Comic Relief: Let's all laugh at football

This blog post is totally all for fun. After all, it's for a good cause.

Written in conjunction with http://blogupnorth.wordpress.com/ linky.

It's sad that we live in a world where footballers earn more than doctors, nurses, teachers, teaching assistants and other meaningful, well-worth jobs but I guess, there is nothing we can do about it! So, let's take this opportunity today to laugh in the face of football and look at how fucking stupid the footballing world can sometimes be.

First up.....

Let's all laugh at Manchester City.

My husband's football team who bowed out of the Europa league last night. Now Balotelli-stupid bugger-got himself into a bit of a tangle on and off the pitch, after being sent off and also in this little gem of a video, which was brought to my attention by Rob Green (Stoke supporter ha ha-that's funny!) who asked me once how he could 'star' in one of my blog posts. Well, here you are! (Good luck in your new job, pet and thanks for the vid!)

Let's all laugh at the SMB (Sad Mackem Bastards)......

Of course, being a Newcastle United fan, you have to have a sense of humour but nothing makes me laugh more than Sunderland FC. My dad is always sending me texts that make me laugh out loud, "Did you hear about the Sunderland fan who studied 2 weeks for their urine test.....?"  I opened this one just before a serious meeting at work and had to try my best not to giggle.

However, this 'Mackem' video always cracks me up the most......

Let's all laugh at football legends....

How could I do a blog post about the funny side of football and not mention my all time footballing hero, Sir Bobby Robson? The legend came out with some right classics........

"The first ninety minutes of a football match are the most important.”

                                                 OR

“We’ve got great speed in the team, not just Gary Speed, but great speed!”

RIP Bobby xx

Being a Newcastle fan, I have learned how to laugh at myself and my football team. Nothing makes me giggle more than another Toon legend, Kevin Keegan and his outburst to Alex Ferguson, "I will love it if we beat them."

Let's all laugh at the big four....and England

Supposedly Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. Well, go on. Laugh at them. They all claim to be the best but what a load of shite they all are. Arsenal are such a let down. Liverpool bang on about their history (that's all they've got!) after last night I'd be a very worried scouser! Chelsea-well, all I can say is Ashley Cole? He is laughable.  And finally, Manchester United. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha just the pictures of Wayne Rooney make me laugh. Also love this story Alex Ferguson laughs at Berbatov. Class!
However, nothing makes me laugh more than the overpaid, ridiculous England football team....ha ha ha !

Let's all laugh at Newcastle (Andy Carroll)
The circus that is Newcastle United is laughable at times.I mean if I don't laugh, I'll cry! I do blog about football (some times) but this has to be my favourite blog I've written so far. When I was gutted that Andy Caroll decided to pick money over his heart and left the Toon for Liverpool, I wrote this....Dear Mr Carroll

And finally....Let's all laugh at Fulham (well, the owner!)....

I can't end this special comic relief blog without mentioning Fulham, I did chuckle at Al Fayed's Michael Jackson statue story. Craven Cottage is not my lover....

If you're interested in funny football stories there is this lush website called Away End that is full of football fans real-life stories.

Honestly, the world of football is a funny one sometimes. I admit that I love it. I was brought up to love it but some times you just got to look at the bigger picture. I hope that lots of people donate to Comic relief tonight especially footballers who earn so much. It truly is such a good cause. So, go on laugh at football, laugh a yourself and your footie team but don't forget to laugh at me and my beloved (but hilarious) NUFC.

  1. These are all brilliant. My son's a Liverpool fan so that kind of makes me one too, but if Andy Carroll is worth £35M then Lionel Messi must be worth half a trillion. :)
